The Black Forrest and Heidelberg etc

I had a lovely time in both the Black Forrest/Schwarzwald and Heidelberg.... it was lovely. The Black Forrest was amazing and I have always wanted to go there. Words cannot describe how awesome it was.... the trees are huge and the roads are so narrow and windy..... a bit like England.
We found a natural spring and we drank the water straight out of that. We went to a restaurant a bit later and sat on the balcony and looked over the Schwarzwald.... so gorgeous!!! The next day we hopped on a train and went to Heidelberg and met the American GVSU group there. We walked around the Altstadt/old city and went up to the castle. We walked around the ruins and saw the biggest beer barrel in the world. Only in Germany. haha. Then we hiked up a hill up the other side of the river and enjoyed looking at the castle from that side. It was a lovely day and the sun didn't stop shining! I drank so much water that day.... all that walking and the sun just beating down.
We walked around the shops later, but I didn't buy anything. Sunday- I was very tired and slept quite late but I was invited to the outdoor pool in Schwaebisch Gmuend, so of course I accepted the offer! I met Kai and Frank there, and we just hung out in the pools. There is a lazy river there so we just floated around that. It did get a bit cold after a while but it was a lot of fun. Then Monday I went to my class and then got invited to go back to the pool again. This time I went down the slide--- the water was freezing, but a lot of fun because there weren't many people there. Finally, I get home, eat some food quickly and then head straight to aerobics. (Hochschulesport) I meet a couple of girls from the Wohnheim (the dorm) there. It is hard work but we get a laugh out of it. Non stop movement for 1 hour 15 min... quite tough. We then came back and had some chocolate milk and hung out for a bit. THEN.. I thought it would be a great idea to do my washing. There is only 1 tumble dryer for 278 people so I couldn't dry my clothes that night-- instead they were hung all over my room. My jeans weren't dry for the next day-- so I went to my grammar class wearing damp jeans, at 8 in the morning. Not fun.
Anyways... that has really been it for this week. I have one more class today and two tomorrow. I have plans to go to Strasbourg this weekend with a friend. I hope it works out. Saturday we are going to a small town 1 hour from here-- the uni is paying for us to go.
Much love..... and I will keep you posted. xoxox
